parking went well. the shuttle has Marriott on the side in large letters and I had no idea that was the right service for the Renassaince Arlington Hotel! Have you seen how tiny the letters are printed for the "south route"? And shuttles often don't stop, they just glide by. I was disappointed in the shuttle.
The hotel which is 3 months old was very confused( at the desk) on how to handle the pickup payment--took an extra 10 minutes as they kept going in bakc to talk things over
Attendant had difficulty finding the key and car upon our return which delayed us 30 minutes.
The Renaissance Capital View is new so maybe it is having growing pains. This review is from June 2011 so hopefully soon the facility will solve the two issues below. The first problem is that the hotel SHARES a shuttle with four or five other hotels. This means that, when you come back and want to retrieve your car, you could wait twenty minutes at the airport for the shuttle and it may be full with other hotel guests and their luggage. On a Sunday evening, this happened to me once and to another couple twice. Meanwhile we watched other hotel shuttles appear over and over again, which was especially infuriating. Very deceptive by the hotel to state that it has a twenty minute shuttle that is actually shared with other hotels. The second problem is this is a valet lot. This makes the drop off easier but makes the pickup very long. The reason why the lot is valet is because they stack cars in the lot. If your car is buried then it's going to take a while -- another twenty minutes -- to get it out. I spoke with the manager about this and they are considering rotating forward the cars for folks who are departing, because they are supposed to know when each airport parking customer is coming back to retrieve his/her car. Once this hotel sorts out those issues I suppose it can compete with all of the other facilities nearby.
1) All attendants and shuttle drivers were very helpful and very courteous. 2) Directions to the Renaissance Hotel in Arlington did not include directions from points south/I-95 south. The hotel is too new for GPS maps. 3) No information was given as to the shuttle from DCA back to the parking lot. I did not know what shuttle to look for. Fortunately, another hotel shuttle driver was able to call for this information.
Valet service was not good. There were two cars ahead of me and 1 valet so it took a while before my car was parked. Also my gps could not find the address that was listed so i called the hotel and gave me a separate address to put on the gps.
My car was bumped in the parking lot.
