When dropping off your car, customers should go directly to the Kohls garage, where an attendant will direct them to enter the garage and park. Customers will be transported via complimentary van service with their luggage across the street to the Crowne Plaza Hotel where complimentary shuttle service for Herndon Park & Fly customers will depart every 30 minutes, on the hour and the half hour to the airport.
If arriving between 11:00PM and 6:00 AM, please park in the open lot at Crowne Plaza Herndon. Should you need to contact the the Crowne Plaza regarding shuttle service, the number is 703-471-6700. Herndon Park & Fly operates 24 hrs/day. Between 6:00AM - 11:00PM, check-in at attended Kohl's/Herndon Park & Fly Garage. Between 11:00PM - 6:00AM, check-in at Crowne Plaza Herndon and park in the open lot.

Outbound, we were the only people in the van to Crowne Plaza. Nice, helpful driver. We waited ~ 10 min. for the van to the airport at CP. Return- I'm glad there was enough room in the van. Everyone was anxious to get going after long flights. Only 3 people got out at CP, but the driver dropped them off first. I'd give it an 8.5/ 10. We will probably try again. The price was right.
I got to the lot on a wed evening, found the parking attendant after a few minutes of driving around. He mentioned that the lot was full, and redirected me to the Crown plaza hotel across the street. Once at the hotel, the experience was very smooth. The front desk reception quickly wrote a pass for me, gave me detailed directions to the parking lots (covered and uncovered). The shuttle service was on time both during departure and arrival. Good hotel staff, indifferent parking attendant.
There was no information provided in regards to the parking garage opening at 6:00 a.m. even though we had a reservation for 5:45 a.m. Due to this delay, we missed the hotel shuttle bus to the airport and had to ride a taxi there since the shuttle only departed every 30 minutes. This defeated the purpose of getting a discounted price for parking. What made the experience worse was how uncooperative the hotel manager was at the Dulles Crowne Plaza. Even though there were two other shuttle buses on standby, the hotel manager insisted that they could only leave every 30 minutes. Even the shuttle bus driver offered a ride but was shot down by the manager. He insisted that the information about the parking garage opening at 6:00 a.m. is on the receipt; however, when I showed him my receipt and the lack of such information, he pouted and walked away leaving the front desk customer service rep to handle damage control. This manager needs to take a refresher course on providing customer service and customer relations.

Shuttles leave the hotel every hour and half hour, shuttles pick up from the airport every 15 and 45. This was very accurate. Obviously we had to wait as we didn't arrive at the ideal time, but can't argue with a set pattern. The covered garage is separate from the hotel and there was an attendant take us with our luggage to the hotel, We waited in the lobby for the hotel shuttle. On the return, the hotel shuttle (from the airport) dropped us off at the garage.
Only two problems: 1). got to Kohl's lot, attendant said full, I said I had reservation, he advised to go right over to Crowne Plaza (which I'd like to have known was a possibility), worked out OK, just took me more time. 2). directions on exactly where to wait for the Crowne Plaza shuttle when returning to car were unclear to me, as I am unfamiliar with Dulles Airport (not using it often)...can make it clearer which LEVEL to exit at baggage for us out-of-towers!

I reserved a covered spot, but only an outdoor spot was available when I arrived. I wasn't happy about that.

The parking garage we were told to park at was actually closed. There was no sign up, no one there and no notification had been sent to us. We parked at the hotel instead, however, the lack of warning about this change could have very easily delayed our arrival at the airport.
Supposedly the shuttle does not run between midnight and 4h30 am. I took a taxi- arriving at the hotel just after the shuttle pulled in. No directions to the Dulles route -- only to the toll road. I ended going back to the airport then getting on the correct (non toll) road to DC. All in all this was okay - probably would do it again -- with more research on my part before using the lot again.

I was dropped off at the ARRIVALS gate and told it was just a short walk (really, just brushed off and not important enough to drive the extra mile) With a lot of baggage and not hours and hours of time, it was not a pleasant way to start the trip and I was not pleased. I expected to dropped at DEPARTURES, since I was departing. Isn't that the normal procedure? Upon Arrival, after being told by the attendants when I was leaving that I was to tell the driver that I needed to go the Kohl's parking area and that he would drop me off first, I was rather curtly told that I would be dropped off after people had been dropped off at the hotel. OK, just awkward and bit off-putting. When I got to the Kohl's the attendant was unbelievably lazy. He never even stood up, just sat in his little booth. I drove my car down to the gate, loaded my suitcase by myself, and then, had to walk to him to give him the receipt. He would not even stand up to take my receipt. All this after having given him a very generous tip on my way to the airpot. So, I am not impressed.
Very positive experience. No elevator in the garage so keep that in mind if a solo traveler with a lot of stuff
There was no indication of where to park beyond 6-midnight time. Fortunately I did a recon of the drive and location before my flight date.
Spaces were not available in the Herndon Park and Fly parking structure. Was necessary to park at the Crowne Plaza hotel which was fine since it was closer to the airport shuttle.
We were led to believe that upon returning from the airport, the shuttle would drop us off in the parking lot near our parked car. That turned out not to be the case as we were off-loaded at the hotel only. It would have been helpful to know that going in as we selected our parking space.
It appears you have over booked the parking. You should have managed wait lists / confirmations, which is absent. There was no parking slot available when I arrived and I have to park on a side line, though inside the parking area. However, no damage occurred to may vehicle as I feared when I returned from my trip.
