We have used the Doubletree twice for parking near Seatac airport and are very happy with the service.
Paid $70 online and self parked, got a ticket and validated at front desk after returning from trip, got a additional $24 charge leaving the parking lot for being two hours over the reservation. Interesting! That's a two day parking fee that was tacked on. Over estimate reservation in case of flight delay everyone or find another parking establishment.
Will do this each time from now on !
Due to holiday traffic the shuttle took 45 minutes to go 2 blocks! We could have walked it in 10 minutes, would have appreciated some comments from the driver to that effect. The gate to let us out of the parking lot didn't work, but the help button got us through.
No t enough space and no parking attendant to guide us to additional parking. Terrible service. Waste of money
There is more wait time with Doubletree than with other services I have used. If you don't hit the twenty minute timing for their shuttles, you are going to wait awhile not a problem unless you are in a hurry. The checkout end could also be speeded up. I prepaid but still had to go inside and wait in the checkin line to get my ticket validated.....could be done automatically or at least have a separate line for parking payers.
Can't say enough about how good this experience was. We waited less than five minutes on the way over to the airport and when we returned, the shuttle was just pulling up. This was as quick and easy as if we had parked in the airport lot.
Laughing at the question about parking lot attendants, as there are none at this hotel, which offers airport parking as a side enterprise. Our greatest problem was figuring out how to translate our advance payment receipt into a document that would allow us to exit the hotel parking lot. No one at the front desk seemed to understand the complete process, and when we finally found someone who could provide us with a paid receipt/exit ticket, it didn't work. Oh well...next time we'll park at a real parking facility. Nice hotel, though...
No need for shuttle. The airport is 5 minutes walk.
I like the double tree parking lot. The shuttle drivers are courteous and professional.
Do not go to Doubletree to park your car. We paid for parking on line. When we got there the parking lot person directing traffic had no idea you could reserve parking online. They told us to pull up our car at valet and they would take care of my car. When we returned they had lot our car, and had no keys at the key pick up with the valet. When we finally found our car in the lot the keys were sitting on the dashboard for everyone to see and steal my car. Absolutely horrendous !!!!!! And of course the manager was too busy and could not be located to discuss the situation.
Excellent service! The shuttle driver waited on us to drop our bags in front of the hotel and then park the car. Very quick pick up after the trip and very nice lady at the front desk. She even gave us cookies. Will use them again.
Wretched return experience! The web site said to pay inside. After waiting at the desk for about 20 minutes (lots of hotel registrants, only one hotel employee who was busy on the phone), I was told to go to a kiosk to pay. When I finally found the kiosk, it was out of service. So was the second one, after I flagged down a hotel employee to ask for help. Nobody at the Doubletree seemed to know or care how to pay for airport parking. The parking exit booth had no attendant, but I was able to pay with a credit card there. No receipt was issued, which will be a pain to deal with for employer reimbursement. Very frustrating experience on the return end.
NOTE: This place does not valet your car! You have to park it yourself, lock it, and take the key. Also, it is not indoor garage parking. We were a bit thrown off by all this since we have only parked at the valet lots, including Hilton, and I thought since Doubletree is a Hilton hotel, it would valet our car, but it did not. Not a big issue, just wasn't expecting to walk in the freezing rain from our parking spot to the front of the hotel where the shuttle picks you up.
There are two entrances to the parking lot, one entrance was turned off or not working, with no mention that there was another entrance on the other side of the lot that was working. This is not acceptable when rushing to catch a plane. A separate sign saying "airport parking entrance this way" would help.
Things went smoothly. When we landed, we just missed the shuttle, so it was most of 20 minutes before the next one arrived.
My husband and I and our dog travelled on Christmas day and returned on the 4th. The hotel is easy to find and close to the airport. Plenty of parking in the back lot. If you have lots of luggage and travelling with a pet, I would suggest you off load luggage/pet in the front of the hotel where you will board the shuttle and then one of you park your vehicle. We didn't do this so it was brutal carrying two pieces of luggage, golf bag, dog's kennel, and the dog on a leash to the front of the hotel to get on the shuttle. It's a 1/4 mile to the front of the hotel. You will get a parking ticket when you enter the parking area. Keep your ticket with you as you will need to have it validated upon return to exit the parking lot. There is no need to leave it in your vehicle. We left it in the truck and when we returned had to walk to the back lot and then bring it to the front desk to have it validated. If you pre-pay you will also need to show the printed copy. The people at the hotel were very nice and friendly. When I walked through the hotel to the front lobby with my dog on a leash everyone was very nice. We waited a few minutes for the shuttle and I really appreciated that they allowed my dog to ride with me in the shuttle. He was a little nervous but felt better sitting next to me. The ride to the airport is 5 minutes away. We had an excellent experience, we know how this works now for future reference, when we travel with our dog, we will off load first, etc. The parking lot is large and nice, and we found our truck safe and sound. The 1/4 mile walk is no big deal, I didn't have to wait at the counter, and if I did, I really don't mind, the price is right.
The directions for getting the parking ticket validated were unclear. It would be helpful if this was included in the printed confirmation.
Excellent parking/shuttle experience! Will definitely use your service in the future. Please keep your prices reasonable.
Was unable to walk through hotel after parking at the far back of the parking lot and was forced to walk all the way around the building. Maybe issuing a temporary access card to get into the hotel to avoid the rain/snow/cold/windy conditions outside. or walking in the driveways with no sidewalks.
