Is there anything better than a professional massage? Pop into the popular Massage Bar for 15 or 30 minutes of pure bliss. If you're really crunched for time but you're in need of something good for your body, opt for the 15-minute Single Shot massage. All of the fully trained and certified massage therapists work out your stiff neck, shoulders, and back while you're fully clothed. There's no use of oils or lotions either, so once they're done, you can hop right up and head to your gate. Tired feet? Kick back and let magic hands work away all of your travel stress from your calves to your toes.
Despite seeing a heavy load of international passengers, many passengers have commented on how long the customs process takes. American passengers have said in multiple reviews how long the lines are upon their return.
The other most common complaint is how long it takes to get from point A to point B. Even with shuttles, many people say that the shuttles are "primitive" and "outdated" and don't do any better at transporting them from place to place any more quickly than if they traveled by foot.
If you wind up hungry during your wait there are a plethora of yummy restaurants to fill you that are both fast food and sit down. Check out these favorites:
Enjoy French cuisine without leaving American soil with specially crafted burgers, mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres, and some of the best crepes you'll ever have. You'll never find airport food like this anywhere else around DC. Dig into duck confit crepes with brandied cherry and chive aioli, or escargot crepes with foraged mushrooms and creamy brie. If you want something a bit heartier, try the steak frites with house made ketchup.
The Firkin and Fox
The best way to pass the time is always in a pub. Relax in this kitschy British themed pub in Terminal A with a pint of beer or a glass of wine. If you need some sustenance, the traditional pub menu is sure to please. If you're an early riser, try a legitimate English breakfast with pork sausages, baked beans, and whipped potatoes.
Large international airports can be confusing, especially if you're traveling abroad for the first time. If you need a little guidance as you're trying to navigate the maze that's IAD, look for the Airport Ambassadors. They're stationed around the airport in bright yellow shirts, so if you need help or have some questions, stop and ask some of these friendly faces anything that comes to mind!
Dulles International Airport is full of friendly staff waiting to help you navigate the open skies. Whether it's your first trip through or your twentieth, Dulles has a host of amenities to make your travels as easy as possible.
