Chihuahuas Fly First Class From San Francisco International Airport to New York City

San Francisco, California travelers on Wednesday, January 6th got a special treat as they arrived for their early morning flights at the San Francisco International Airport. According to the SFGate.com, Chihuahua breeding has grown to overpopulation rates and the ASPCA sent some happy pups to New York City to be adopted. The pups were greeted at the departure gates by enthusiastic photographers and TV camera crews at 5:30 a.m..

Fifteen pups in all were sent to the Big Apple by the ASPCA for treatment and care and then to find new homes as “Operation Chihuahua”. The first plane had nine pups and the second plane had six pups. The Chihuahuas were very popular not just at the airport but also online, with 47,000 Facebook fans following their updates.
